Elle Fanning + Rodarte

Premiering exclusively today on Nowness, Elle Fanning stars in Todd Cole’s film The Curve of Forgotten Things. Done in collaboration with Rodarte, the film which was shot on a RED camera with Cooke lenses from the ’70s, highlights design duo Kate and Laura Mulleavy’s spring 2011 collection, which drew inspiration from 1970s northern California and references Redwood forests, the gold rush and Asian influences.

In the film, the young Somewhere star wanders, spins and prances through the empty rooms of the historic Baldwin House in Los Angeles, her outfits magically changing to Deerhunter’s eerie and dreamy soundtrack. The film’s title is also the title of a Richard Brautigan poem about forgotten things.
